The thing is, trends aren't for everyone, and just because it's "in style" doesn't mean it looks great on you. If you're fed up with not feeling and looking your best in your clothes, you're in the right place.

Seasonal Color Theory is a tool that helps you determine the color "settings" of your natural features, and then pairs you with one of 12 seasons that has a curated color palette with similar color settings.

Application of your seasons' specific color palette to your makeup and fashion choices results in an incredibly harmonious, overall look!

The Colors We Wear make All the Difference

Do you notice anything different between these two pictures? We have the same, beautiful woman, but on the left she looks more tired, a little red and even blotchy, her beautiful blue eyes (that we see on the right) are faded and even dull looking, and the black of her blouse really pulls down and dominates her entire appearance.

Yes, she's still a beautiful woman - we're not questioning that at all! No doubt she would even get complimented on her outfit, her hair, and her lip color. But, does she look her best? Is there harmony in her look that compliments her best features?

See, the problem isn't you, it's what you're wearing. Just because "Cassie" looks beautiful in royal blue, and royal blue is one of your favorite colors, doesn't mean that you're going to look your best in royal blue (but I'm also not saying that you can never wear royal blue again!).

A more muted shade of blue, such as cornflower, may be significantly more harmonious with your natural features. Or, maybe a warmer shade of blue like an ocean blue would be more flattering. There are a few different aspects of color that make up the color profile of your hair, skin, and eyes, and play a significant role in what colors, and even patterns, will look best on you.

In the picture on the left, I had just begun dipping my toes into Color Theory and thought I was an Autumn season. You may have already noticed that I'm wearing colors very typical of "fall:" darker reds, dark purples, dusty orange.

Fast forward a few years, after deeper digging and developing a better understanding of Color Theory, I realized I'm actually a Bright Spring. In the picture on the right, I'm wearing appropriate, harmonious colors.

Do you see the difference? Very little changed in my actual appearance, other than the color and length of hair, but the girl on the right looks more vibrant, more awake, more alive; she looks healthy, balanced, and harmonious. On the other hand, the girl on the left looks a little yellow; it's hard to notice anything other than her bold, deep red lips; her big, bright eyes fade into the background. Is she still beautiful? Of course, she is! Does she look as healthy, vibrant, and balanced as the girl on the right? You tell me...

I'm a Seasonal Color Theory enthusiast with a deep, unyielding passion to help women feel confident in their own skin, to embrace their God-given beauty, and to master their own effortless, sustainable style.

My own Color Theory journey spurred out of a vicious cycle of wardrobe and fashion burnout: I'd spend lots of money on whatever was "in style," take the pieces home, never feel great when I put them on. I'd see pictures (or look in the mirror) and get frustrated with how I looked, whether it be my proportions, looking washed out or yellow, or just looking "off." So, I'd march off to the store again, determined to find "what would look good." The problem? Well, I never had a way to actually make better decisions around my purchases, so I'd just repeat the cycle over, and over, and over.

I found Seasonal Color Theory on Pinterest one night when I was desperately looking for a solution. Now, my confidence in my wardrobe, and the time, energy, and money I spend, has skyrocketed. My journey has been a long and slow one. I found one blog talking about Color Theory that was a great foundation, but really had to piece everything together by myself and learn through trial-and-error. Which is why I created The Color Theory Academy - so that every resource you need to transform your fashion confidence is all in one place! On top of that, you have me!
